Technical Producer

Remote (Vancouver/BC/Canada preferred)

Eden Industries is looking for a Technical Producer to partner closely with our engineering teams on the most technically demanding work in the studio.

We specialize in:

  • Porting games to new platforms (including Nintendo Switch 2)
  • Performance optimization and technical problem solving
  • Co-development and full-development partnerships
  • Building our own original games and IP

This role exists to bring clarity, structure, and momentum to engineering-heavy efforts where ambiguity, hardware constraints, performance targets, and cross-discipline coordination can otherwise slow teams down.

If you enjoy working where the hard problems are—platform constraints, performance budgets, engine limitations, and complex integration challenges—then this role is for you.

As a Technical Producer at Eden, you will…

  • Partner directly with engineers to plan, scope, and de-risk technically complex work
  • Translate performance goals, platform requirements, and technical constraints into actionable production plans
  • Own schedules and deliverables for porting, optimization, and engine-level initiatives
  • Anticipate technical bottlenecks before they become production crises
  • Coordinate across engineering, art, design, QA, and external partners to keep technically sensitive work on track
  • Work closely with leadership to prioritize efforts based on risk, impact, and opportunity
  • Help create production processes that respect how engineers actually work
  • Track performance budgets, memory budgets, and platform requirements as first-class production concerns
  • Assist with certification planning, platform compliance, and submission timelines
  • Serve as the connective tissue between deeply technical work and the rest of the studio
  • A track record of bringing order to ambiguous or technically complex efforts
  • Comfort working in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities
  • Experience coordinating with external partners or co-development teams (nice to have)

This role is a great fit if you…

  • Prefer solving messy, technical production problems over managing feature backlogs
  • Enjoy learning how hardware, engines, and performance constraints actually work
  • Take pride in helping engineers do their best work
  • Like being the person who sees risks early and prevents fires before they start
  • Are comfortable operating with high autonomy and ownership

Location

This role is remote, but due to the need to work with console development hardware, we will prioritize candidates in the following order:

  1. Vancouver area
  2. British Columbia
  3. Canada

To Apply

If this sounds like your kind of challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email your resume and a brief note about a technically challenging project you helped ship to careers@edenindustries.ca.

Unreal Optimization Engineer

Remote (Vancouver/BC/Canada preferred)

Eden Industries is looking for an Unreal Optimization Engineer to join us in optimizing Unreal Engine titles, including for ports of games from PS5 / Xbox Series / PC to Nintendo Switch 2.

This role is almost entirely focused on one thing: making demanding games run well on constrained hardware.

If you get genuine satisfaction from shaving milliseconds off frame time, tracking down hidden memory costs, and understanding exactly why something is slow, you will love this job.

You will be working at the intersection of Unreal Engine internals, platform hardware constraints, rendering performance, and asset optimization to achieve results that often seem impossible at first glance.

As an Unreal Optimization Engineer at Eden, you will…

  • Use Unreal Insights, platform profilers, and custom tooling to identify CPU, GPU, and memory bottlenecks
  • Optimize systems at multiple levels: C++, engine configuration, rendering settings, content, and asset pipelines
  • Work directly in Unreal Engine source when necessary to improve performance
  • Collaborate with technical artists to reduce asset and rendering costs without sacrificing visual quality
  • Analyze frame breakdowns and memory budgets and turn them into actionable engineering tasks
  • Implement platform-specific solutions tailored to Nintendo hardware constraints
  • Help establish performance budgets and optimization workflows for porting projects
  • Tackle problems that require both engine knowledge and low-level performance thinking

We’re looking for someone who has…

  • Strong C++ expertise and deep familiarity with Unreal Engine architecture (UE4/UE5)
  • Shipped multiple Unreal titles, ideally on console and preferably on Nintendo hardware
  • Proven experience with CPU, GPU, and memory optimization inside Unreal projects
  • Experience reading and acting on profiling data from Unreal Insights and platform tools
  • Comfort working in Unreal Engine source code when needed
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills
  • A high degree of self-direction and ownership
  • A genuine enjoyment of optimization and performance work

This role is a great fit if you…

  • Get excited when a frame goes from 24ms to 16ms
  • Enjoy investigating why something is slow more than implementing new gameplay features
  • Like working on technically demanding problems with clear, measurable results
  • Are comfortable navigating both engine code and content-side optimizations
  • Take pride in making “impossible ports” possible

Location

This role is remote, but due to the need to work with console development hardware, we will prioritize candidates in the following order:

  1. Vancouver area
  2. British Columbia
  3. Canada

If this sounds like your kind of engineering challenge, we’d love to hear from you.

Please email your resume and a brief note describing a particularly challenging optimization problem you’ve solved in Unreal to careers@edenindustries.ca.

Unreal Technical Artist (Optimization Focus)

Remote (Vancouver/BC/Canada preferred)

Eden Industries is looking for an Unreal Technical Artist with a strong focus on optimization to join us in optimizing Unreal Engine titles, including for ports of games from PS5 / Xbox Series / PC to Nintendo Switch 2.

You will work at the intersection of assets, rendering, cook/build pipeline, memory budgets, and runtime performance to ensure that visually ambitious games can run smoothly on target hardware without losing their visual identity.

If you enjoy understanding how assets flow through Unreal’s pipeline, how they affect runtime performance, and how to reshape content for efficiency without sacrificing quality, this role is for you.

As an Unreal Technical Artist at Eden, you will…

  • Use Unreal Insights, in-engine profiling tools, and platform profilers to identify asset and rendering bottlenecks
  • Optimize assets, materials, textures, meshes, levels, and lighting for performance and memory
  • Improve cook and build-time processing for runtime efficiency
  • Establish asset guidelines and budgets appropriate for Nintendo hardware
  • Work closely with engineers to align asset optimization with engine-level solutions
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues caused by content, rendering setup, or pipeline configuration
  • Jump between projects to solve technical art and optimization challenges as they arise
  • Help define repeatable optimization workflows for porting projects

We’re looking for someone who has…

  • Deep knowledge of the Unreal asset pipeline and cook/build process
  • Shipped multiple UE4/UE5 titles, ideally on console and preferably Nintendo hardware
  • Demonstrated experience optimizing for CPU, GPU, and memory within Unreal projects
  • Strong understanding of materials, textures, LODs, lighting, level setup, and rendering cost
  • Experience collaborating closely with engineers on performance initiatives
  • The ability to move between projects and quickly diagnose technical art issues
  • A high degree of self-direction and ownership
  • A desire to continually learn and improve optimization practices

This role is a great fit if you…

  • Enjoy making heavy assets lightweight without artists noticing
  • Like figuring out why something is expensive and how to fix it
  • Care about cook times, memory footprints, and draw calls as much as visual quality
  • Prefer solving technical art problems over creating new art content
  • Take pride in making ambitious visuals run on limited hardware
